weekly stills - the ho ho ho edition

Given that my husband's parents divorced many years ago, we have learnt to streamline Christmas over the years.  We used to rush from family to family and Christmas started to become a blur of quick visits, snatched conversations and the feeling that we didn't really get to enjoy Christmas with anyone.

Now, we spend the morning with his father's family, then have lunch with either my family, or his mother's family.  Boxing Day is then spent with the family we didn't see on Christmas Day.  It's perfect - or as close to perfect as we will get.  And, we get two Christmas Days!  Bingo!

After the heat leading up to Christmas, the cooler ( although wet) day we had this year was a blessed relief.  And the kids didn't seem to mind the wet weather anyway, they enjoyed a game of wet weather soccer and jumping on a very slippery, wet trampoline.

weekly stills - the scorching edition

So far this spring and summer have been scorching.  The last few days have been no exception, and we have enjoyed cooling off at the beach in the evenings after dinner.  The kids spent a few days at their nan and pop's before we both finished up work for the year, and certainly enjoyed making the most of their pool.  I swear Lucy is a water baby, she is never happier than when she is diving and gliding through the cool water, she would grow gills if she could for sure!

Wishing you all a very happy and restful Christmas and New Year.  I hope you are all able to enjoy this beautiful time of year with the people you love.

3. I love her little topknot
4. I bought this wreath many, many years ago.  I change the trim each year.
5 - 9.  We are all tired. The end of the year is fast approaching and all the school concerts, party days, Christmas parties and movie days are catching up with us, fast.  Yesterday afternoon I declared we all needed some fresh air in our lungs to clear away our cobwebs.  Salt air and sand cures all ills.
